![]() ![]() He has traveled thousands of miles on foot and by bike in the Middle East, Europe, and the United States, and he is currently based in Colorado, where he works as a nurse when not traveling or exploring the Rocky Mountains. He spent many years in the Balkans and Middle East, helping to develop hiking routes in both regions. Matthew Harms is a walker and cyclist, at heart a traveler who believes in slower forms of transportation that allow for a closer understanding of people, communities, and landscapes. They enjoy introducing their children to the joys of walking, the outdoors, and learning from other cultures. They have shared a deep love for the Camino since they each first took a 500-mile journey on the Camino Franc.s in 2009. David cofounded the Jesus Trail, a hiking trail that connects sites from the life of Jesus and developed the TransVirginia gravel bikepacking route. Both are avid hikers and cyclists, with experiences ranging from backpacking Patagonia and Nepal, to hiking in the Middle East and biking across the USA.
